Hedera's mainnet upgrade to version 0.63, scheduled for July 23, 2025, will enhance network performance while leaving HBAR's tokenomics unaffected. The 40-minute maintenance window will implement three key improvements: support for non-zero shard/realm IDs, fee configuration throttling, and MerkleDB tuning for optimized storage efficiency.
The upgrade strengthens enterprise adoption potential by boosting throughput and reducing ledger syncing time. While temporary transaction processing disruptions may occur during implementation, core HBAR functions—including transfers, staking, and smart contract operations—will remain fully operational.
